The Great Studio: Building a Brand That Belongs

The Challenge
When The Great Studio opened on Main Street, it wasn't just another barbershop. It was a cultural space — part barbershop, part community anchor, built around the idea that where you get your hair cut says something about who you are. The brand needed to carry that weight from day one.

The Approach
The identity was built around three expressions working together. A clean modernist wordmark for the storefront — confident, current, the face of the shop on the street. A heritage badge — crossed scissors, laurel, "TGS" — that gave the brand its craft and history. And an interlocking TGS monogram, a single ownable shape that worked embroidered, printed, or debossed at any size. Three expressions, one coherent voice: modern where it needed presence, classic where it needed warmth. The brand line — Look Good → Look Great — ran from the business card to the shop hoodie.

The Outcome
Ten years later, The Great Studio is still one of a kind on Main Street — a cultural anchor that helps keep the city alive. That's what a brand done right becomes: not just an identity, but a place that holds a community together.
